Requirements beyond the threshold
- Frequent Traveller — At least 325 of the 650 must be Qualifying Points, earned on Lufthansa Group airlines.
- Senator — At least 1,000 of the 2,000 must be Qualifying Points, earned on Lufthansa Group airlines.
- HON Circle — Counted in HON Circle Points, a separate currency earned in premium cabins on Lufthansa Group metal.
These apply in addition to the Points figure, so reaching the number alone does not confer the tier.
Qualification runs on the calendar year. Frequent Traveller confers Star Alliance SILVER, which opens Lufthansa Group lounges but not alliance-wide lounge access; Senator is the Star Alliance Gold rung. Frequent Traveller needs 650 Points of which at least 325 must be Qualifying Points (earned on Lufthansa Group airlines); Senator needs 2,000 Points (≥1,000 QP). HON Circle uses a separate points currency (premium-cabin Lufthansa Group only). Miles & More status earning is a FLAT points award per flight, set by just two things — cabin and whether the flight is continental or intercontinental (Economy 20/60, Premium Economy 20/80, Business 40/200, First 40/400). The booking class is only an eligibility gate: it decides whether a flight earns at all, never how much. Re-confirmed at miles-and-more.com, Aug 2026. Star Alliance flights earn Points but NOT Qualifying Points or HON Circle Points — only Lufthansa Group and co-issuing partners (Austrian, Brussels, Croatia, Discover, Eurowings, ITA, LOT, Lufthansa City, Luxair, SWISS, Air Dolomiti) earn all three — so the sub-minimum above cannot be met on partner metal.

They are shown here and never scored — the Lark Score measures Points earned and nothing else. Where the published wording says more than the summary line, the wording governs.
A second qualifying currency
- Qualifying Points are a second currency rather than a share of the first: each tier publishes a Points threshold and a separate Qualifying Points threshold, and Qualifying Points are earned only on flights operated by Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, SWISS, Brussels Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Croatia Airlines or ITA Airways, while ordinary Points earn across Star Alliance.
Applies both when qualifying and when keeping a tier.

Qualifying Points and HON Circle Points can be earned on flights operated by the Lufthansa Group and co-issuing Miles & More airline partners [only -- ordinary Points earn on all Star Alliance airlines]. Frequent Traveller: 650 Points AND 325 Qualifying Points within one calendar year. Senator: 2,000 Points AND 1,000 Qualifying Points within one calendar year. Both published thresholds are exactly 50%, but this is a second currency with its own earning universe, not a proportion of the first -- do not flatten to a percentage. Disclosed, not modelled: Qualifying/HON Circle Points can also be earned on LX code-share flights operated by Edelweiss (flight numbers LX8000-8499) booked directly with SWISS under the LX flight number -- a flight-number-range carve-out this schema has no key for.
