Miles & More Points Calculator

Miles & More — the shared programme of Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian, Brussels Airlines, LOT and Croatia Airlines — awards status Points as a flat amount per flight segment, set by cabin and whether the flight is continental or intercontinental. Distance within those categories doesn't matter.

Qualification runs on the calendar year. Frequent Traveller confers Star Alliance SILVER, which opens Lufthansa Group lounges but not alliance-wide lounge access; Senator is the Star Alliance Gold rung. Frequent Traveller needs 650 Points of which at least 325 must be Qualifying Points (earned on Lufthansa Group airlines); Senator needs 2,000 Points (≥1,000 QP). HON Circle uses a separate points currency (premium-cabin Lufthansa Group only). Miles & More status earning is a FLAT points award per flight, set by just two things — cabin and whether the flight is continental or intercontinental (Economy 20/60, Premium Economy 20/80, Business 40/200, First 40/400). The booking class is only an eligibility gate: it decides whether a flight earns at all, never how much. Re-confirmed at miles-and-more.com, Aug 2026. Star Alliance flights earn Points but NOT Qualifying Points or HON Circle Points — only Lufthansa Group and co-issuing partners (Austrian, Brussels, Croatia, Discover, Eurowings, ITA, LOT, Lufthansa City, Luxair, SWISS, Air Dolomiti) earn all three — so the sub-minimum above cannot be met on partner metal.

Frequently asked questions

How are Miles & More Points calculated?
Since January 2024, each segment earns a flat number of Points based on two things only: the cabin, and whether the route is continental or intercontinental. A one-hour and a four-hour European flight in the same cabin earn the same Points. Your booking-class letter maps to the cabin using each carrier's published table — on Lufthansa and Brussels Airlines every letter is covered, including the letters that earn nothing (I, O, R, X, plus A and F on Brussels, which has no First cabin). Note that award MILES — a separate currency from Points — switch between a spend formula and a booking-class formula depending on the first three digits of your ticket number; Points are unaffected by that.
Which airlines share Miles & More?
Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines and Croatia Airlines all use Miles & More as their loyalty programme, and flights on any of them (plus Star Alliance partners) can earn Points.
What do Frequent Traveller and Senator require?
The ladder below shows the Points thresholds, counted across the calendar year. Miles & More also applies a Qualifying Points minimum within each of those totals — half the Frequent Traveller and Senator figures — and Qualifying Points accrue only on Lufthansa Group and co-issuing partner flights, never on other Star Alliance metal. That minimum sits outside a per-flight calculation, so a Points total shown here can be reached without meeting it.
