What this calculator works out

This is a status calculator, not a mileage calculator. It tells you what a flight earns toward elite status — Tier Points, XP, Qpoints, Status Credits, Loyalty Points, PQP, SQC or whichever currency your programme qualifies on — and how far that takes you up the ladder. Redeemable miles, which most airline calculators show instead, are a separate and usually more generous currency.

It covers 50 frequent flyer programmes across Oneworld, SkyTeam and Star Alliance. Earning is modelled per credited programme, per operating carrier and per booking class, because the same letter is filed differently by different airlines — so you can enter the exact class from your ticket, or pick a named fare type when you do not know it. Where a programme earns from what you paid rather than how far you flew, the calculator asks for the sector fare, and only then.

Where the numbers come from

Rates are transcribed from each programme’s published tables and official calculators. If a programme publishes no rate for your booking class, the result says the rate is unknown instead of estimating one, and a published zero is shown as a zero. See the methodology for how figures are captured and checked, or where to credit to compare every programme an itinerary could credit to.
