Requirements beyond the threshold

  • PlatinumFlown in THAI Royal First or Royal Silk cabins; Met in EACH of two consecutive 12-month periods — the figure shown is per period.

These apply in addition to the miles figure, so reaching the number alone does not confer the tier.

Platinum requires 80,000 QM flown in THAI Royal First / Royal Silk (J/F) in each of two consecutive 12-month periods — the per-period figure is shown. Gold alternative: 40 international THAI segments in 12 months. Own-metal earning is the full published booking-class chart (26 of 26 letters resolved), with a 500-mile minimum credit on sectors below 500 miles. NB booking class A moved from Royal First (200%) to Premium Economy (110%) for flights flown on or after 1 July 2026 — the 110% rate is the one applied here; Thai's own page still displays the superseded First row, and Voyager and ShebaMiles both still rate A as First on Thai metal. Verified at thaiairways.com, Aug 2026. The Q-mile arithmetic is now PUBLISHED (Program Conditions page, verbatim, 9 Aug 2026): 'Qualifying miles are defined as actual miles flown, subject to paid fare, on THAI and Star Alliance operated flights, and include applicable class of service Bonus Miles' — the same-number reading of the partner charts is confirmed at Primary grade (gap TG-G2 closed); promotional miles and non-Star partner miles are excluded. The Gold 40-sector alternative is THAI-metal only, excluding T/K/S/G/V/W/L classes; Silver also reachable at 15,000 QM over 24 rolling months, Gold at 80,000 over 24. Asiana accrual ends for flights after 15 Oct 2026 (encoded as a dated rule window). The postponement banner has since been REPLACED by a status-extension campaign (thaiairways.com ROP news, read 31 Aug 2026, Primary): Platinum and Gold members whose status expired or expires between 1 June and 31 December 2026 are extended to 30 June 2027; the current qualification criteria continue to apply. One live caveat: THAI's own prose rates booking class T at 75% where its table rates it 100% — the table is followed here (reported from a 31 August 2026 research read; re-verify at next capture). Accrual keys to the OPERATING carrier's booking class, and THAI states that a codeshare bought from the marketing carrier but operated by another Star Alliance member may not be eligible at all. Renewal at the same threshold for Silver and Gold, stated on the same Program Conditions page (capture Y, 11 Sep 2026): ‘To retain Silver or Gold status members must earn specified Qualifying Miles within the current 24 month validity of status’ — 10,000 and 50,000 in either 12-month period, the same figures that reach them. Platinum is not named in that sentence and no separate Platinum retention figure is published anywhere on the page.
